I have several vids to import as an event but two problems. The thumbnails take 3 hours to generate but then they're all grey anyway. Also about 50%... WitrynaBecause iMovie relies on connections between clips (its 'magnetic timeline'), it won't let you split an audio clip that has no above video clip, as the new bit of clip would have nothing to attach to. To fix this, you need to have a visual layer (like an iMovie background, or anything really), to allow new connection points to be created.
